Technical Clutch help!

I was reversing out of a space this evening, went to put the car into first, and it stalled, now the clutch has no resistance at all and I cant get into gear. Ive had to abandon the car in a car park. Any ideas? Its an 05 reg mk2b.

if you can get it in gear while engine is turned off its your clutch

If it's been making clicking noises,it s most likely the release bearing going through the pressure plate,new clutch required.But if you lucky it may just be a hydraulic problem.Check pipe for leaks,check brake fluid level(same reservoir use for clutch). See if you can pull fork arm linkage toward the slave cylinder on top of the gear box. On a good working clutch,you can pull fork arm back slightly(5/10mm)

No resistance = no preasure to press against
Either youve burst a pipe/master or slave cylinder

Or clutch pressure plate has gone (bearing punched through)
