Technical Clutch help

The clutch pedal on my mk1 75sx makes a clicking noise when you use it, it goes all the way down but it feels like its catching on something, when you release the clutch it goes back up ok without any noise.
All the gears go into place fine and the car works fine apart from this problem.

If I remember correctly, this started to happen to my MK1 85SX a few months before my clutch slave cylinder failed. Keep an eye on the brake reservoir for drop in fluid level, as the slave shares the same reservoir as the brakes. Also look for signs of a leak around the piston end of the slave (located under the battery tray).
