Technical clutch cables

i have a '89 tipo and this morning it wouldn't go into gear. have adjusted the clutch cable and now it does go in gear but it engages about an inch from the floor. i'm suspecting that the cable has stretched. can anyone tell me if this sounds right, and if so whatthe length of a new cable should be so i can compare. cheers

It may be half broken, my Uno turbo did that a few times. Can you adjust it up any more?

nah its pretty much as far as it can go. i drove it around the block a few times and it seemed to get harder to select gears. i'm getting another clutch cable tomorrow. hopefully that'll fix it.
