since ive had my car its been kinda rough on the driving smoothness side of things. I never really paid much attention cause its an old car and so i assume the suspention isnt going to be that smooth, plus it was lowered 35mm anyway.

At the moment ive got it lowered 35mm on the front using Gmax springs and the original shocks and at the rear its lowered 40/60mm (its supposed to be 60 but it isnt) on Gmax springs and GMax shocks. when taking large bumps you can sometimes hear a clunk coming from the rear. not just the general bang you get in an uno (rattling dash etc) but a proper clunk.

I know its not the wheels rubbing the arches (im all to familiar with that noise) so what could it be?

Any ideas anyone?

suspention struts m8 open the boot and take off the little black caps on the left and right onto of the wheel arch and see if u can wiggle to the piece of metal sticking up in the air! if u can wiggle it then you need some new suspention struts in that case they are £20 last time i brought some i need to get some for my front now already done the back ones! take it to a garague n get em to have a look at it cos its either the struts or the rubber seal they got to hold em in place i forget which it is but it must be that mate cos i got same problem! n if u leave it, it will ware the tyers out alot faster on the good side!

gotta love the uno's

Yeh sort it m8 i had that problem, but my suspension ripped the wheel arch it wasnt good. i was told its coz the car is lowered plus the petrol tank was on that side.

by strusts are u refering to the dampers/shocks? i always get these words mixed up...

if u do mean dampers/shocks then they are brand new!... if not then ill try that today and see if it wobbles!

it must be the rubber seal things then m8 cos thats wot mine was and it makes a knocking sound!

and u think u have got problems i took mine to work the other day to change a break bulbs and i suddenly thought hmmmmm while i ere i think ill put i on the ramp and have a look underneth to see how clean and tidy it was (oh how i was wrong!)

1. i need a new steering arm of the passenger side rubber seal is fuked and u have to change the whole lot!

2.small hole in my exhaust next to the cat so ive g0ot to bodge that otherwise its a new cat which means over £100 quid

3.soon gonna have a hole in my feul tank so i need to bodge that or buy a new one! its starting to corrode where the feul pump is sealed in underneath if u have had a look under urs then u will know what im on about GUTTED is the word oh and i ow my mum £300 quid :(

so i ofund that it was very exspensive to get my break bulb changed :(

gotta love the uno's

well ive just checked it (and took my rear seats out too) and it wobbles a slight bit... but isnt that normal seen as it rests on a rubber cone thing (similar to the front struts) and so it is going to bounce and wobble a bit.. thats what its for i assume, to absorb the energy of the bump in the road so it doesnt destroy your arches and tear through them...

oh rite well other than that then i dont have a clue inless its ur suspention arm hitting the arch soz m8 cant help u :p

gotta love the uno's

It might just be your exhaust. It is close to the the spare wheel bay and the fuel tank. Mine smashes trashes and hits (KISS) into these everytime I do a sharp left or speed bump at high speed (!).

My fuel tank also corroded resulting in a lovely smell around the Uno all the time. The fuel pump isn´t sealed underneath, it´s just a welded splash prevention inside the tank. Pretty stupid actually, ´cause this rusts.

Spam0r.

Get a new tank from a scrapped Uno. It is very easily replaced. Just buy some new clamps. One large and one medium for the "in" hoses - yes there are two, one is for "overfill prevention". Easily explained in Norwegian... And two small/medium for the fuel hoses on top of the tank. It is important that you remove these before lowering the tank. If your new scrap tank has three extra hoses/intakes on top of it, plug them shut with hoses, bolts and clamps. This is what I did. I think the tank was from a 1.4 or 1.5 (rare) litre Uno.
