Have read posts on here before about 'clicking' rear wipers but has anyone actually found out how to cure it? Sounds like, (and almost definatly is) a knacked relay, but is this replacable??, as a new motor is £100!
Before replacing the motor, make sure the electrical contacts are clean. These are obvious when you open the hatch. I had ticking from my motor once, and cleaning the contacts sorted it
it has happened to me when there was ice all around the wiper and the wiper itself was sticked to the rear window. So it didnt turn back to its starting position and rele started to make clicking sound. All what i had to do was to move it manually to its lower position, bent it slightly over the limit and it started to work again. But i agree its probably caused by dirty contacts or the space between them.
Had the same problem some time ago.
See Feb 18th where I posted a solution , it can be time consuming and a bit tricky, but if the solutions posted by the other gentlemen do not work then mine may be the answer .By the way I did not have to buy anything to repair it so do not spend a lot of money until you know exactly what the cause is ,best of luck.
