Styling Clear Rear Lights

Ok I am going to sound stupid here! But, you know you can remove the orange lense on side repeaters on most cars, making them clear, is this possible for rear punto lights, removing the red lense, making them clear?? Has anyone tried this? probably the most stupid thing you have read today! But i come up with some crazy ideas sometimes and wondered if this would work. Otherwise im just going to tint them. Just not sure if it is legal and wil pass an MOT?

If youve got a mk2, get a set of mk2b rear lights as the indicator bit is clear not red

on cars like the Bravo and the Marea, there is a clear lens that surrounds the whole cluster. behind these are coloured lenses. on the punto 1 and 2, there is no clear lens on the outside, just a coloured lens.

try a tinting spray, available in red, blue, green or black or a light spray of your cars colour as a nice alternative to the omnipresent Lexus style lights
