Yep they are on again, get yourself a deal. Artprov the bloke Twincams bought his wheels from is doing a reasonable deal. 20 sets of wheels for £269 a set.

Maybe not quite the cheapest you'll get, but hey you don't have to run the risk of being outbid.

I've got my set, i don't care if i could have got them cheaper, i've missed out about 6 times on these wheels, so i'm please i've finally landed a set.

Information from our member CARLO..............

Thats a good deal mate. Reason there so cheap is because fiat have masses amounts of stock of that wheel and that specific tyre make, model & size. It was part of a deal they made with Pirelli.

I got those wheels and tyres when they first had the promotion (advertised in Auto Italia) for £325!! I sold the tyres, because they were the wrong size for my car for £280 and brought the correct size.

Excellent value for money.

Carlo.

Re: Information from our member CARLO..............

Yeah i saw that post, its what swung me to buying them.

Nah i never bought tyres, i don't plan on fitting the wheels straight away, probably see out winter first, especially as my current tyres have loads of life.

I'm looking for the impossible in my tyres, good in the wet, low tyre wear and quiet interior road noise. Found a nice set on my-tyres too, but i'll be doing a lot more hunting.

Plus i've got to work out if PI springs are much better/worse than Eibach ones, seeing as their are £40 less.

The only problem is........................

if they've got loads of surplus and they're knocking them out like no ones business we aren't going to be an individual bunch are we ???

I like your Scottish style, "I've got to wear out my tyres before I put my new wheels and tyres on"......................get a life !!!

Oh, and go for the Eibach, they are the ones FIAT themselves use, only they paint them black and put Abarth decals on them.

If you get a set off my-tyres, who would you get to fit them. As im wanting the uniroyals next for mines but whenever ive enquired into fitting they all want £10 a wheel and then at that point I way as well get some goodyear NCT's

Re: £10 a wheel ain't bad..................

oh, thats alright then :)
although ive seen people in the past say they got it done for £5 a wheel

Re: Trouble is........................

going to buy us dinner then ;)

nah its not that, I just saw some people say they got it for £5 so was a bit suprised when everyone started saying £10.

So once the firestones are finished, NCT's it most likely will be ;)

I have to say..........................

these Pirellis are bloody good, I was giving them some serious stick today in the wet round roundabouts and it didn't go anywhere!

I was doing a road test let's say, I wanted to see at which point I lost adhesion and they'd let go but they held solid throughout, occasionally the fronts gave way, but generally they were fantastic, I was well impressed!

Re: I have to say..........................

When I had the Rover I stuck some goodyear GT2's after the Pirelli P2000's had worn away (these managed 55k it seems from new) Both tyres really do stick to the ground while the GT2's where amazing in the wet, although the only issue I had with the GT2's is the high wear rate they had, in the space of a year they where down to 3mm.

still with the original firestones f570's on the brava while the stilo has had new dunlops sp300's fitted thanks to uncle arnold sticking them on the warrenty

What pirelli's are the ones with the alloys anyway?

Re: I have to say..........................

Me personally, i think going from 195's to 215's will generate sufficient addition grip, but what i'd like is is maintain a slow tyre wear and most importantly i'd like to reduce tyre noise, it really pisses me off in the Stilo. Driving up the A92 they've relayed some sections and the Stilo is so quiet, but the rest is a fecking nightmare, its so noisy.

all i'll be doing is changing from 175's to 185's so shouldnt be too big a noise jump, although the standingstone road, thats a bugger as its old sections with the top layers missing makes a fair amount of noise in both cars

Ghost........................

that's hardly suprising on that thing of yours, it only got BMX tyres, I bet they changed them with tyre levers, no sorry three tablespoons!

I'd have done them cheaper for you, for the price of a pint of OJ !

i put goodyear eagle f1s on my claws and they feel really good, wet and dry. the only thing i have noticed is a slight tendency to tramline, if you know what i mean. the tyres were £87 fitted and balanced from a small local tyre dealer.

A good price they are, BUT, if Carlo is right, local dealers may be able to yield some better savings, I'll give mine a call...

@StiloBoy,

Mate go for Eibach suspension set-up. P-I are good, however they have a common fault that most "cheaper" brands suffer from called spring clatter. Basically the coils are not coated in rubber therefore when the coils touch they clatter. This can be solved with a bit of silicone spray which normally lasts for 6 months before it needs doing again.

Also as TC said Eibach develop their kits around Italian cars. Few years back when Fiat used to sell lowering springs for the Punto and Siecentos, they where actually Eibach kits in Fiats packaging.

£650

Is the best quote from "gain more at" - Gainmanor Fiat.

Benfield are "coming back to me" but thats what they said when I asked them for a price on both a Punto HGT and the Stilo :(
