i just brought my cinquecento today it is a p reg it has got 28976 on the clock it is a 1.1 sporting metallic black with a k&n air filter fitted and also has bad boy bonnet on it and suspension strut brace!!!

i checked on www.norwichunion.co.uk and was quoted £2005.00 to insure for 3rd party fire and theft and i am 17 y old and have had my license for 1 month now and i wanna know wot is the cheapest quote a fellow 17 y old with a cinqy had quoted and which company wos it with?????

also i am having trouble finding a site that sells a decent dump valve for a cinqy got any ideas boys/girls?????

oh yeah go easy on me as well its my first post!!!

thanks!!!!

tesco bud on 08453004400 was well cheap for us i been driving 8 month and my partner 18 but shes only 20 we ended up with the cheapest quote from tesco for some reasan they like young drivers we are paying about £73 a month full comp but thats including full uk breakdown cover

hope you get a goodun

Norwich union gave me the best quote when I first got insured on my cinq. Try Adrian Flux or HIC (sorry don't have nos for them) they insure other cinqy owners at good prices.

Welcome to the group - make sure that you join Clubcento in the new year - you get supplier discount off a few places as well as insurance discount from Adrian Flux!!! :)

Cinqs dont have dump valves, you can only hav a dump valve with turbo cars, unless ya wanna fork out £1400 for a turbo for it, ya wont be able to get one.

Insurence wise, i had norwich union and that was £1200 ish wen i just turned 19, im hoping wen i 20 in a couple months and a few yrs driving behind me it go dow

Also Welcome to the forum,

My HIC fully comp insurance cost me £179 on a sporting, heeheeheee :) . Oh hang on thats means I'm getting old  .

Joking aside tho, HIC have always quoted me cheaper quotes than anyone else on any vehicle I've had.

HIC wont insure blokes under 19

CIS were best for renewal for me 1yr ncb, 18, £1266 all mods declared

Norwich Union were best for me last year, give them a phone call they quoted me about the same online, but then insured me for £1350/£1400 over the phone (y)

To be fair mate, whoever you go with you're gonna get buggered for insurance. At 17 with a sporting that has modifications, they're not gonna give you much under £1500, I should think

I suggest you do a transplant - Fiat coupe 20vt engine into Cinqecento. Goes in relatively stress free - You just need two tools, a crowbar and a shoehorn. Then you get the PSsscchhht sound you crave, And you can tell the insurance company (if you crash) that you bought the car like that and you thought it was the standard 1.1 engine (y)
Ask around on the forum, I'd say three quarters of the cinq owners have transplanted to the coop engine, there's also a few running v8/v12 engines with no hassle.

Cheers

Pinin (y)

a guy in my flat's dad has just got him a 1.3 escort (sad!!) and to insure that 3rd party only was £1900 with endsleigh at 18. with pass-plus it came down to i think £1300

Yep...Im 19, have 2yrs NCD and pay £1600 for Fully Comp.
But that is with the mods below all declared.

Put simply...its expensive anyway, so yu may as well declare the mods :)

i was 21 at last renewal with 2 years NCB and payed £440 fully comp with all mods declared - thats induction, exhaust, springs and throttlebody. thats with driving other cars and track day cover too
