Technical Cinquecento Querie

Alright peeps im Sunil i own a modded up fiesta Si with an RS1800 lump.

basically my mate has Cinq 900cc and we want to transfer all parts form Cinq Sporting into this. so i need to know what parts i can swap and cant. like do we need to change over the whooe loom to get the engine the running?? does the sporting have different brakes and extra or better anti-roll bars ?? any help appreciated cheers

Well a 900cc Cinq doesn't have roll bars.

we are doin it cause the 900 lump is knackered and my mate bought a sporting with crap exterior for 20 quid.

so will the engine fit straight in??
can we use the original loom??
wat parts are uprated on the sporting that wud be good to change onto the 900??

You will have to change the engine, gearbox, mounts, manifolds, full exhaust, anti roll bar, coolant hoses etc. etc. - it's a big job but possible. I'm not 100% sure if the loom is the same or can be adapted, but the 899 ecu won't be ideal.

why dont you just take off the old sporting exterior, and swap it with the good bits from the 900? Would be much easier

cheers lads. wen u say u need to change the mounts do mean that the mounts are in the same places but are stiffer?? or that the mounts are in different places?? so basically will the engine fit in without havin to weld in new mountin points??

also where can i find out if the looms are compatible cause i would like to avoid changin it if possible for obvious reasons

The shells are the same, you may need the complete mounts (i.e. bit that bolts to the body and the bit on the engine) swapping over.

The 899 and 1108 basically use the same throttle body, same TYPE of sensors (if not identical ones) etc. - it may be worth spending a couple of hours with a Haynes manual and pen& paper to see what's different.

cheers for the help. we are starting tonight so ill try it on the original loom and if it dont work then ill swap em over. my mates plan to get the engine out is to take the subframe out then drop the lump to the grond on both cars then lift fronts over the engine and then lift the front back over onto the new lump. then we are gonna wire it all up and get runnin. then we are gonna chop the sporting in half and wack it on a small trailor we got and take it down the scrappy. should be fun lol

You don't need to drop any subframes off, it'll fall straight through the hole if you undo the mounts. Much easier to drop the engine down than lift it up & out.
