Hi all, new to this site and recently bought a 1997 1.1 Cinquecento with a blown head gasket. As the car is for my girlfriend and I rebuild Porsche engines for a job i thought that it would be an easy rebuild..rings, mains and big ends plus a quick hone and head skim..the standard.
My question to you all is why has my crank got 48mm instead of the standard 44mm main journals that is stated in both the owners and haynes manual? and where can I get the larger main journals bearings from?
I have rung my local fiat dealer and they quote £15 a pair and are unsure if they are the larger size or not.
Also does anyone know the sizes of the siecento and punto mains and if they are anywhere near or compatable?
Any help would be amazing!!
Kind Regards

Will

Ok, What size bores should the Punto be? I put the glaze buster, bog brush honer down it and measures up at the 70mm the cinquecento haynes manual said it should.

Differences are not huge by any means. But Cinq will be from 69.96 - 69.99, Punto 70.76 - 70.79.

Big ends are different sizes as well as the mains.

Another tell tale is that the alternator/crank pulley on the Punto should have a harmonic balancer (looks like a fat black rubber ring when looked at timing side on), the Cento doesn't.
