Okay, this has probably been answered before but I can't find the whole answer.

What I have done;
Charged battery, had it off the car overnight
Checked the crash switch
Checked the Immobiliser antenna around the ignition barrell
Checked the fag packet sized box just above the pedals (immobiliser?)
Checked the red key does have the little doofer inside it

What we have so far;
Code key light on
Injector light on
Starter spins for Britain
Engine ticks in the fuel department
No sparks at No1 or No4 plug (or any other plug I guess?)

What I am thinking it may be;
Engine earth strap?
Crank sensor?

Help!:rolleyes:

Thanks.

Okay, not the earth lead - I've done the jump lead trick.

There is a bracket which isn't attached and should be;
Right hand side of engine bay (seen from front) near ECU, almots triangular bracket with vacuum pipe connected and electrical plug too. Seems to need mounting possibly on an ECU bolt?

Also, where is the crank sensor? Is it behind or under the engine 'cos I can't see it.

All help and advice welcome.

The bracketwill be the MAP sensor. Bolts on immediately behind and just to the right of the ECU.

Crank/TDC sensor is on the offside of the engine (timing side) right on the end of the crank (you'll see the toothed timing wheel with the two belts going to it). You'll probably have to remove the wheel (with the tyre on it, not the timing wheel!) to get clear sight of it. Held on by a small bolt, electrical connector is usually under the inlet mani.

Its the 899cc monster.

Oh and the car is P-reg so 1997 not 1994

Thanks for the guidance Fingers.

Many thanks once again. That's tomorrow's task then. Let me guess, I will need a puller for the pulley?:confused:

Changed the crank sensor (supplied via eBay link from the forum)
Checked every earth strap I can see, cleaned tightened and coated with petroleum jelly.

Not a clue.... ECU?

The ECU fitted to the car is labelled thus;

CJOLLY56 150 96

IAW 16F .EO

IAW 16F .EO/2A21 -33

FIAT 500 0.9 FRSE2 IMB

4641120 61602 .072 .07 2 12v-

Is this the correct ECU and how can I test it?

Or do I change the immobiliser & then what about the key?

Help!:rolleyes:

Thanks.
