I tried to plug my Mobile phone charger adaptor into the Cigarette Lighter and guess what is doesn't fit in correctly.

Any one else this problem, any solutions to this?

Cheers

Socket

Isn't your mobile phone charger designed to be placed into a 9 volt socket as opposed to the cigarette lighter? If the car did not have a lighter it would have the 9 volt socket. I would suggest you either replace the lighter with a 9v socket or simpler just buy yourself another battery for the phone.

Re: Socket

What I meant to say was the 9volt socket. Can anyone else help without leaving childish comments!!!

Lighter Socket Woes

I have a Nokia 3310 for which I have a quite sturdy in car charger with a very shoort springy lead. This lead causes the plug to ping out the lighter socket if I have the phone anywhere elase apart from my left knee! As I also use an ear peice I find I end up with wires all over the place.

SO, I devised a cunning plan. I used an elastic band wrapped under the ashtray flap and over the charger, and it keeps the damn thing in. However it hasn't cured me from unclipping the seat belt and ripping the ear piece out and gettin gme into a mess at the end of every journey!

I couldn't work out if your problem was similar or whether your in car charger was different / not desinged to fit a standard lighter socket as I have never seen one any different.

Oh and before anyone goes on about using a mobile phone while driving please don't, I need to use ot for business while I drive to client meetings. I have been stopped three times for not using a hands free kit but we are now in 2002 and to be honest if I didn't then business competitors who do will have an advantage, that is life. I don't smoke which I think is more dangerous when driving to be fair!

I have the same problem

I use my ciggy lighter pluggy thing for my cd player as I am a gippo and can't afford a changer. The damn thing keeps falling out of the ciggy lighter everytime I change gear. Its not too stirdy. My phone charger (3310) keeps falling out as well. I think its just a bad design as the ciggy lighter in in the hash (ash) tray and not situated on the dash board like normal cars. Its kind of at an angle. The Stilo's is in the middle by the handbreak! Bit of a bugger if u drop it under the seat lighting your fag!

cigarette lighter

Mine does exactly the same but if I turn it a bit it does go in the only thing is you have to keep fiddling with it to get it to work
