Hey all.
Just bought a 1.2 Bravo X-Reg.
Having trouble when anything is electrical is plugged into the fag lighter.
When something is plugged in, it seems too loose and with a little bit of movement the power connection is lost.
Anybody come across this and have any tips??
Thanks
Lee

I'd imagine the connector at the bottom has become depressed, can't remember if they are pushed up by a spring or just an angled up metal connector, you might be able to make it stand a little higher with a pair of needle nosed pliers.
disconnect the fuse before you try though :)

I'm almost sure the socket is solid, ie, no moving parts the problem is more likely to be the male plug, 2 springs at the side act as the earth connector. try forcing these out a bit to make a tighter connection

I have tried a few different (male) connectors in it and the same thing happens.
Its as if the (female) connection is to loose and therefore allows for movement.
(excuse the pun) ;)

Thanks for the post.
If i was to have a fiddle with it, will it be safe with just the engine turned off.
Or would i need to go abut disconnecting things??

getting it out

Any body any idea how to get this sucker out.
The metal pin inside are flush so its not biting when i insert a plug.
Need to get her out so i can bend the pins back inwards....

So long as power is not going to it then you can do what you want with it but make sure its not shorting anywhere when you put ignition back on. The lighter assembly is fastened with a large nut at the back. disconnect the wire first
