Technical Chugging and stalling Brava.

I have a 16v 99' sx80 Brava that yesterday all of a sudden started seriously chugging and then stalled. I managed to free wheel home but now it will start but only with my foot on the accelerator and even in neutral it's chugging like hell. once I release the accel it just cuts out. Anyone any ideas or is it just the fuel pump or could it be the egp.

there's lots of things to check but firstly, does it sound like its running on two cylinders ?. If so, ckeck the coil and plug leads first. Is the injection/ECU light on when its running ?.

Yes the injector light is constantly on.

as stylers says you should check the ignition first. check for sparks on all plugs.
