Just fitted my present.....some brushed aluminium dial rings....lifts the dash nicely.

Best wishes to all! IMG_20191227_171629186.jpegIMG_20191227_171557286.jpeg

Our "B" had a new wiper motor which I've just fitted today. Old one was playing up so went for a new unit which came from Germany.

Old one will now get a full recon and go into stock.

Reason for new as opposed to fix the old unit is that the car is outside all year and frequently used. Stripping the metalwork off and putting back ensuring no paint damage and plenty of waxoil under all the spline bolts is a time consuming and careful job not to be rushed so having check the steering column switches and wiring it had to be the motor with relay unit that was duff. No need to mess around fixing the old unit.

To be honest ,I've got used to it and also use the rev counter as x revs is

y speed in top gear.

The combination of red needle ,white dial and ageing driver's eyes all make it

difficult.
I do the same, but only because the speedo's broken! Around 3000rpm in 5th = 70mph-ish, I think. Plenty of nice GPS speedo apps to do the trick nowadays, and possibly more accurate?
