I'm needing two soon and currently run four Bridgestones of the same size.

I want to go for Conti's but they are quite expensive at £53, I've seen Dunlops for £50 and wondered if they were a good tyre?

I'm gonna need 2 soon (Damn that trackday at Castle Combe!) and am also looking around. How good are the Bridgestones? Contis seem fab in wet or dry.

Dunlops seem to be hit n'miss, I know people who've said certain ones are like Nankangs in the wet.

i used to rate bridgestones so highly its untrue, except they seem to be so much worse on the red 'un than they were on the yellow 'un, not sure if this has something to do with the slightly dodgy brakes on the red 'un or what, but something isnt right lol

er, no idea really! It was the Spring action day, just 15 minute free for all's.
Was hitting 102 ish before the arse clenching brake-over-crest bit after the start finish straight/lazy right. Don't know the proper names for the corners m'afraid.

Descriptions are much better than names!!!Lol

Are you planning another track day next year? Hopefully should be taking my Y10 round as soon as it's running.

The Nankangs were great on the M1 earlier. Standing water all down one section. I think I started drifting at 85

I had Dunlops on my SX, no complaints at all but I didn't thrash it like I do the Sporting

I currently have 4 bridgestones, but my next two tyres will be contis i reckon. The bridgestones are good, but i dont think they are too great on damp surfaces. They're great in proper wet, and dry - but slightly damp roundabouts and the front tends to fall away and the car scrambles for grip (maybe i should ease off a touch... hehe)

There's nothing with Clubcento as far as I know, but if anything comes up I might go :)

Dunno whether the black one will handle 15 mins flat out though.
Might melt.

Finally the Conti's are fitted, first impressions are good but due to time of year theres not much dry weather to test them fully and when it does become drier it they won't be brand spanking.

Got a year from a set of Avon's and only around 11 months from the Bridgestones but I've done more miles this year.

The Bridgestones look more aesthetically pleasing than the Conti's but aslong as they do the job they'll be fine!

my bridgestones are about finished  although i have done about 12-15k on them (roughly)

i take back the criticisms of the bridgestones by the way :D got the strut brace fitted to red 'un today and thats what the difference was :D

You must drive like me!

12-15K is about right for me too, passenger side was down further than the drivers though cos I don't brake for roundabouts or corners!

have to admit when i realised they were going bald i almost had a heart attack, then worked out that i'd actually been running the tyres for not long but had been for alot of miles (if that makes sense :p)

have already done the swap the backs for the fronts trick to get few more miles, unless i get a job pronto (and thus money to buy a 14" wheel and tyre package) the spare set of alloys/tyres will be going on (155/65's lol this'll be fun)

Ghost,

i'd start looking for new rims now - ive had nothing but trouble in finding new ones. I think ive sourced some now tho, just need to get a price.

Ive been trauling the net for the past month.
