My mk1 Punto starts ok,then cuts out whilst ticking over :bang:,i have to rev it to get it warm so it doesnt cut out.

Does anyone know how i can adust the choke or enything else to rectify the problem :)

It is far more likely that the coolant temperature sensor has failed than an automatic choke issue. When this fails, the ECU assumes that the engine is up to operating temperature so you can at least get home. Of course, when you start the engine cold, the automatic choke doesn't kick in. This is a reasonably common issue.

Same problem on a mk2, clean the throttle body and that cures it, sometimes only temporary though.
Mine did it untill I retimed the car! Got the timing spot on and it's stopped doing it now! :S

At first I did get the throttle body cleaned and that cured it for a few months!
