Hi, any advice on this one.

Had the warning when starting the car, so I decided to change the glow plugs.
77,000miles on a 2009, and they looked pretty corroded!

Soaked them for about 3 days in penetrating oil, and used a torque wrench to remove them so so carefully.
First three came out ridiculously easy - and I thought this is a walk in the park.
The fourth one immediately sheared :bang:

Went to plan B and got a broken glow plug tool.
Decided on the cheapest one available as they were from £24 to £165, but all looked identical.
Lo and behold, taking it super slowly it worked, the plug successfully removed, all new ones in, feeling great.
One of the caps doesn't quite snap onto the glow plug head, and does feel sloppy/loose.

Still have the 'check glow plugs' warning.

So my question is:
Is this just a system error stored that needs switching off?
(If so is mutleuscan the tool to get - I do have access to scanners at a friends garage)
Or could it be the glow plug relay - if so how would I check?
Or maybe the cap on one of the plugs.

Any input appreciated.

Thanks.

Buy a new glow plug connector and cut and splice into the llom to replace the bad one

If you have the radio codes then you could try disconnecting the battery
for a wile see if that gets rid of the light.

That one seemed to do the trick!!!!
I haven't driven it yet, but the 'check glow plugs' warning is off :)
