Cheap printer £50ish?

hey all, after a cheapo printer for the GF's uni work, i've seen those all in ones go for £30 but i know some of them use expensive cartridges or pull through 60 pages at a time!

like i say it's only for uni work so it doesn't have to be anything special, gunna have to order it in a shop aswell to get it in time for xmas

well that's the problem.
i like canon.
my one i can get ink for 3 quid per cartridge and it takes 5.
and lasts ages
ip4000 very old tho now
was £130

What's the budget?

I was a Canon fan but not any more. Plus I now avoid compatibles, just seemed to ruin both my printers.

Currently running two HPs - one a 4 in 1, other a colour laserjet - no issues so far and they get abused daily.

You can pick up half decent HP PSC models for well within your budget. I switched from Lexmark to HP years ago and haven't looked back. HP build quality is OK and the ink isn't the cheapest but certainly not bad and never had a dud oem cartridge.

if ur going to be printing alot a few thing to remember
1) is it ecomical with ink
2) is ink easy to find and buy
3) dnt buy 1 where the the ink is daft prices

i went for this in the end, it's an Advent, gets great reviews, both colour and black ink cost £11 (genuine kodak) wireless and everything too, it'll probably get fired up on xmas so i'll let you know what it's like
