Can anyone explain why they are in financial trouble because of the switchover.Why will they be worse off than as it is now (analogue)?

more channels perhaps?

channel 4, E4, More 4 film4 etc. and the +1's each programme played often costs more for each programme played.

creating/buying more new programmes/films etc.

whereas before they held probably a larger market share as only 5 channels (excluding sky) they now have more competition.

theres probably plenty to go on.
