Technical Changing the Headgasket.

how hard can it be right ? How difficult is it to do. I need to change the rockerbox gasket cos its leaking oil quite badly so im thinking of doing them both. Now i have no problems with doing work on my engine but just a bit with finding the problem. I always use my haynes manual and everything is fine. What i have notice tho is that some of the ratings that they give the jobs dont warrant 4 spanners (if you know what i mean). I recently changed my cambelt and tensioner and tbh i found it quite easy and not difficult at all. Im sure the rating for the headgasket is about 4/5 spanners to.......so how difficult is it ?.

until i bought my car, i was a novice with cars. I did my own headgasket last month, imo its easy but time consuming and you have to make sure you put things back together properly and use the correct torque etc.

i wouldnt bother changing the headgasket unless it needs doing tho, and if you've got the head off you may as well have it skimmed at the same time.
