Technical Cd player problem

having problems with my cd player.

i have a 2006 1.2L active grande punto.

the cd player was working fine all day, and then when it came to ejecting the cd, it didnt. it made the sound as though it was going to eject it, but nothing happened. after 10 minutes of pressing the eject button, it finally released the cd.

but now it wont feed cd's into the cd player. it half goes in, andf then just wont go in any further. so any ideas whats up??

would it be cheaper to buy a new cd player and which one would people reccomend, or get it fixed??

the fiat headunits are rubbish, mine wouldnt give cd's back or even play them sometimes. i ended up replacing it with a new one, and although the steering wheel controls dont work yet it doesnt miss a beat

Mine died on me as well, got a pioneer unit now and it's far better.

I had mine replaced twice under warrenty but in the end i have just fitted an after market head unit make sure you get the fascia its £18.48 + vat
