Technical CD player popping and reseting

I have a 2002 Punto I have the standard cd player with the cd changer in the boot. Recently it has started to go wrong. As I'm driving I will hear a loud pop from the speakers and the CD player resets. Once it has reset it continues as normal.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Worth pulling the stereo out of the dash to check the plugs have not come apart and check the fuses in case of a bad connection or starting to fail.
