CD Player Cleaning

Anyone know of a way of cleaning a car CD player? Can you use cleaning CDs like those you can buy for home CD players?

The reason I ask is that my CD player refuses to play CDs most of the time. It crackles a bit but that's it. Other times it works fine. I've asked my dealer and they've gone away to think about it(?). Thought it might be worth trying something else in the meantime...

hi there havent tried it myslef but my dad used one of them cd head cleaning cd's in his car and it worked fine.

Spoke to my dealer again. Some good news. He says he'll replace the unit.
