Went down to fill the tank with petrol earlier and on way home quick look in mirror and there a wee fecker hoggin my rear bumper on a moped, lawnmower on 2 wheels, whatever, tried to overtake me twice but both times showed him a bit of gas and he had no chance, this was a single lane each way road, then he insisted in following me everywhere i went trying to show off so i gassed it up the road, up the hill and over, topped 70 and backed off considering it a 30mph road :s, that was the end of him for the nite, wont try that again in a hurry.
Y do they even bother?? Anyone else had mopers trying to race you etc???

I used to race 'em on my mountain bike! From a standing start I could beat the little 50cc things up to about 25mph, unfortunately i get tired and they don't
Mind you, I'd rather walk than ride a 2-wheeled wasps nest!

Hmm, accelerating to prevent somebody from overtaking during the manoeveur (spl) and 70mph in a 30mph zone?

Now who sounds silly?

I would rather cycle than pay money for a moped to be honest.

I had a moped, i used to loved the lights and traffic jams. but overtaking on a road was never an option

They are also far too underpowered, stupid legislations meaning they need to be restricted means that if you do come into any trouble you don't have the power to get out of it. In my eyes, it would be safer to have them unrestricted and raise the age limit. I am not saying that 16 year olds aren't safe enough, its just not safe making them drive mopeds that are dangerously underpowered.

yea its annoying when they're up your arse like that.
but still... its kinda evil of u.

my boss had a ferarri wanting a race from the traffic lights around new years.
my boss drives a Rover 25.

its pointless.

Paul, where'd u get the IE logo? My other boss wanted some logo's (desktop icons) of IE, Adobe, the office program icons... etc... 2/3 A4 size. Icons are bitmaps as well so enlarging them don't work!

I would never accelerate to prevent someone goin around me apart from that guy on the moped who picked a bad time to try to look cool cause i had been sleeping before i went out and was a bit grumpy and yeah 70 quite safe on that road, is the road where all the chavs hang out everynite in their overmodified 206's, etc(common cars), and have nothing against mopeds really, had one for two years myself, when was 16, was an unmodified 50cc with a well bored out exhaust(technically not unmodified then) that could be a car to 30 from lights and that was it at top speed :)

had a moped before the cinq (and its in the back garden at mo waiting for me to fit new stand to in order to be flogged), completely standard- no way i was keeping it once i got my cinq so no point in buying bits for it - top speed was 30, except downhill when i hit 50- then came off going round corner too fast not wearing my jacket just jeans and t-shirt, ah the ol' days - didnt do that again in hurry :p

There's about three of the feckers round mine, the owners never sleep, Just the constant sh*tey lawn mower sound, Bwapppp etc, all night (I live by traffic lights) making that sound, a bit like a wasp farting.
They also want to race me everytime I am unfortunate enough to bump into them. I usually let 'em win ;)

I find ped's really annoying but used to have one....

In my defence it wheelied off the throttle with having to lean back over the wheel.Lol

The funniest one is when u see them tuck in behind the fairing (y)

Anyone who tries to get to close to me with a hairdryer between thier legs is likely to get suprised by the Family Estate with the 2.0 20v engine.

Had a guy on a three wheeler undertake me on the A55 yesterday, trying to cut in front of me (I wasn't hogging the outside lane!) I was doing 70mph at the time and keeping good distance from the van in front of me. I think he was a little suprised when I closed the gap before he had a chance to pull out. I delibratly slowed down then to allow the cars behind me to catch up so he ended up 5 cars back!

Sorry...couldn't help myself. I hate people who undertake!

lol i have to admit im not that good when it comes to undertaking, but we're talking clear motorway with a guy hogging middle lane, me coming up in the far left ("slow") lane as no point in sitting in middle when slow lane empty - so i do normally just go down the inside i know i probably shouldnt but if they're gonna hog the middle lane  lol besides, as the highway code states, should keep lane changes to minimum > not slow to mid to fast to mid to slow just to get past one car  anyway got side tracked :p back to topic:p

I'm a bit of a beggar as regards undertaking. I am a member of IAM and not only is it illegal but you never know whether the idiot will pull back in suddenly. Saying all that I have been forced to undertake on rare occasions when the knob in the outside lane sits at 50mph when the road ahead is clear. It can be VERY frustrating

 like i said i only do it when ive been gaining on the car ahead for a few miles (usually you can see their rear lights a good 2 miles away) and he's been sitting in the middle lane nothing ahead, nothing behind, no intention of pulling in  i know its bad but like you say it does get fustrating

I have owned a 50cc Moped thingy... briefly we nicked the motor geared it down and powered a massive catapult with it. But riding it home was a nightmare it was a ****heap and I got dirty looks everywhere! With little exhaust to speak of boy did that make a racket.

I hate the things (actually I hate all motorbikes) but they do have their uses.
