After two years of ownership. I've encountered my first real problem!

Basically, the problem started last week. I started the car after it had been sat in the snow for a few days and the car was chugging in the low gears while accelerating. I though it was just because the car was cold and may have seazed a little.

But the problem didn't go away and slowly got worse.

Basically, when picking up speed the car chugs, feels like the power is on then off then on again. And then when on the motorway in 5th doing 70ish the car feels fine but if I put my foot to the floor it feels there is no power at all going to the engine.

I have also had the yellow engine management light pop up when picking up speed.

If anyone can point me in the right direction as to what might be the problem? First I though my clutch could be bust. Then my accelerator. But now I'm
Thinking maybe something as simple as an oil change could help to just re-lubricate the engine.

Hope someone can help as I'm too scared to drive the car now haha!

My old 1.2 8v mk2b used to do this if i left it longer than a day, when i plugged it in to Fiat ecu scan it said it was misfiring when under heavy load, i.e anything more than a quarter throttle.

I found that if i drove to work and back, a total of 6 miles in low gears at high engine speed it helped usually something like 3rd gear at 45mph, and would usually solve the problem, however given your car is newer it may be worth plugging it into Fiat Ecu Scan incase any further damage is done to the car

Cheers

Sounds like either a coil pack on its way out, or something ecu-y, get someone to check the code over and see if its anything serious, might just be a sh*ged spark plug?
