Hi all,
Looking at a car, but there is a problem. The carburetor is just sitting on the intake. I can lift it up and move it around. There is a rubber piece on the bottom of the carburetor were it sits on the intake. I don't see any bolts that should be fastening it to the intake. How are all your cars and is this the only time you ever heard of this problem.

Ive had a few these fail on me they consist of a peice of rubber bonded to two flanges the rubber splits and the carb dances around. there are 4 bolts going down through the carb and 4 bolts coming up through the inlet manifold dont know if they are difficult or expensive to get new as I had some secondhand ones

Thanks fellas,
This info is what I was looking for. I will be heading to the parts store to pick one up.

Hi-have had exact same thing few years ago. Gasget not too dear and bolts from underneath if I recall-a wee fiddle but you'll manage it OK.
