Renewal time just been looking at insurance throught I'd found a good deal at first just £550 for fully comp no claims in 7 years on a fiat Tipo 10 k millage

Then noticed id clicked divorced instead of single so changed it

New quotes came back as £680 .....
Frankly that seems a bit insane..

Best part day before that same company was 560 for the same policy
Don't get how they can have a 120 increase in less then 12h on the same coverage

Edit is more stupid changed the excess to £50 less and it's now 520...🤣

I had a £40 jacket in my Amazon basket and overnight it increased in price to £50.

So i took it out of my basket and the next day it was back down to £40, so i bought it straight away.

The jacket itself was quite light weight and in material alone doesn't look to be worth £40 or £50, but it looks good so kept it...

Thats internet quotes for you.
Rule No 1.
If you get quotes check the company ratings before proceeding. It WILL make your hair stand on end. I looked at obe a few weeks back with 90% 1* ratings. They were the cheapest.
Rule no 2. If it looks good / great triple check your input is correct. If yes grab itIf no, ring them and negotiate.
Rule no 3 Dont change things or get second quotes it WILL go up.
Rule No 4. Be scrupulously honest so you can fight them - in court if necessary when they try and cheat you. Which they may well do.

Its best to get quotes 14 days before renewal its the cheapest time. As we all know your a worse risk at any other time

And for the Panda haters of which there are too many trolling away on here, Panda is now the cheapest car in the UK to insure. Apparently the avg premium is now £907. Pandas average £320. Panda ibsurance has dropped £100 in the last 8 months according to stats. On that basis Im buying an anti theft device today on the saving!

The insurance companies across the board increase premiums the closer you get to end of contract, they try to scare people into overpaying.

A couple of years ago the prices were so much higher than a couple of weeks before the end that i just let the contract run out - low and behold prices dropped for me by 30%

I blame useless fiat drivers. Our prices went up a bit, but the 500 jumped a lot, and we were told they are high risk cars due to recent payouts.

Understandable as they are mainly driven by young people due to cheapness (well, relative cheapness).

Panda is currently the lowest priced car in the UK according to the latest stats prices average around 300. That apparently is down 100 over the states of 8 months ago. Average price of car insurance policy is apparently £907.

S more room to flay us alive next year then..... I insured 3 in March 24 and it cost a few £ short of £1100 so could have been worse these are all on different policies and all have all of them have all four of my UK based family on to drive and carry the minimum possible excess.

House insurance last year was £180 for buildings and contents. This year the renewal was £1080. I ended up paying £360 with the minimum excess and the top level of cover. After all 100% inflation seems fair:mad::mad::mad::mad:.

The insurance industry need more regulation than it already has.

Well just had the most stupid phone call with my insurance

Got a letter threatening to cancel my insurance unless I send the pictures of my car and called them to discuss my policy

The reason was there got a quote come through 5 years ago on my reg for a lpg conversion

Quote for what?

The car dosnt and has never had a lpg conversation
Tell them they are morons and if they want to see the car come and do so but dont waste your time. If they have been told the correct situation by you and want to verify let them come to you. What someone else said in relation to a quote that may or may not have actually had to with your car before you owned it is not your problem. Another example of some jobsworth who needs a swift hard kick up their rear end to wake them up. Tell them you will raise the matter with the ABI if they pester you. Please tell me who they are so I never use them.
