Can you help. .

Yesterday I was driving along suddenly heard this metallic screeching noise from the engine when my car accelerates and sped up over the 25mph mark getting worse and worse.

So I pulled over and the whole thing broke down. RAC checked all spark plugs/leads/ injector etc which seem to be functioning. When testing, the noise was coming from inside the actual engine. Sat in the car stationery the whole car shakes before it cutting out . .

Failed water pump/tensioner/alternator.

Remove alternator drive belt and start car.
Does it now work?

If so, replace alternator, if not, pop the cambelt covers off and check.

Is this an 8V?
