demon tweeks do one that works for about £200 which is why i havent fitted one to my cinq yet.

pete does the rev counter on cinq sporting clocks work if you use the speed sensor wire on the 899s as im thinking of buying some also does the speedo read the right speed as the sporting clock obviously goes up to a higher speed.

wow, if you can find out how many teeth are on the speedo drive pinion on the 899 then I can give you an idea if it'd read right.

Sporting rev counter should work IF you can find a drive signal from the ecu, if you try to use the coils it'll read half.

Pete, I reckon there has to be a signal line from the ECU...Thinking crank sensor really but due to the way that works (its not a pulse really is it?) I dont think that is too suitable.

Plus on the later derivatives (Phase 2- no bootlid crease), the 1108 and 899 shared the same ECU model (16F.xxx), so the line that drives the Sporting tacho would also drive a tacho on the 899cc, but where does that go to on the ECU?

And as the wiring for the 16F (Newer ECU) is the same as the wiring for the 6F (Old ECU, upto 9/95) (the wiring diagrrams in Haynes are identical non?), logically it would be a piece of proverbial to wire if we knew which wire drove the tacho in the Sporting and what pin on the ECU it took its signal off.

im so confused now is it a yes or a no ive been trying to get a rev counter to work in it since february lat year when i brought the car but after buying and trying one of the fast and furious seven colour guages it gave a low reading of course because it was for a four cylinder car.

i used the "speed sensor" wire that goes to/comes from one off the coils its blue and purple i think.

Yep, but you need one that will work on 2 cylinder engines due to the twin coil ignition system.
So would it be feasible to get one from a bike breakers that's suitable for a 12v twin cylinder bike?..........

oo - could there be 2/4 stroke issues? Might work just fine though.

Tom, pin 23 looks about right from the Porter manual, natch it isn't on the Haynes diagram.

Hmm will have to investigate, but sounds interesting! Not that I need another tacho, but I do need a speedo cable!!

..cinquecento sx 1993?

I like the idea of sticking a rev counter on, if its not going to cost me too much....

is there a carburator or Single point iniection system?
