Basically, im getting a set of wheels made up and they gonna cost a bloody bomb i just know it, i gotta spk to the bloke in the weekend face to face to talk it over.

Thing is i dont really wanna shell out **** loads of cash for 14" wheels cause they wont be worth it and look crap, i know 15's aint that much bigger but they look better and especially wat i have in mind for em.

Wat i wanna know is, i know you can have 14" wheels wit the same rolling diameter as 13" with certain profile tyes, but can you have the same with 15's having low profiles that roll the same as 14's or close as, if so that would be the nuts and i wouldnt lose much speed as you normally would wit 15's

If of course i cant, ill seriously have to consider whether to get em, an estimated guide for these would be about a grand so ya can see y im thinking ahead before giving it a go.

Cheers J333EVO,

Checked out the site and i got the following

At the mo im running 185/50/14 and it says rolling radius is 270mm
but then tells me 145/50/15 will give me 263 rolling radius, thats less, surly that cant be right???

Yes it is, because the 50 in the middle is a percentage of the width. With the 145 being a much narrower tyre the height be less and even allowing for the larger centre, the rolling radius will be as above.

Cheers

its not really the height of the alloy that causes the problem. 15" fits the arch fine. its just the width. If you can make them makeu a set of 15" wheels with a 6" width and a 29mm then they will fit in the arch and u will be able to lower it too.

I can choose the width from 5 to 9" thick so you are saying if a have 6" width it will fit in the arches ok, Im not to worried bout that but more about losing speed. At the mo i got 7" width and wit anyone in the back (which is rare cause no one can fit cause of my buckets) they rub like feck. I dont minde getting the arches rolled if i can have the 7" they look good from the rear, nice and wide and more tyre to the road.

So the site is correct then, think ill go ahead wit the new wheels then, maybe even try and get smaller tires.

Thx Rallycinq, ya really do know ur stuff bout tyres and basically everything.

I think you will find that that size of tyre does not exist, but the closest you will get is a 195/45 15 which is only an increase of 7.95mm in wheel arch clearance. These will fit with no problems on a 6" wide wheel as you will find that 6" or 6 1/2 inch is the most common sizes in a 15" wheel, the Cinq's standard wheel is 5 1/2 inch so you're not increasing width by much.

For reference the Cinq wheel as standard on sporting is 5 1/2J 13 - 30.5 the size therefore is 5 1/2" wide by 13" diameter and offset 30.5mm :D

Cheers, Aaron.

Cheers, Also one last thing wen it says 70mph becomes 72.05 mph does that mean wen on the speedo at 72 i would be doing 70mph, or At 70mph im actually doing 72.

I always thought the bigger u go than standard the speedo reads more than wat u r actually doing.

Thx for all ur help thats the end on the subject lol

Yeah it will be, i sent them an email and they replied with a dealer in the uk and as it happens he's shop is bout 15 mins drive from my house, going down in the weekend to have a chat, as his email isnt working and they bouncing back at me.

Of course gonna have to save a bit, in a couple of months might be able to actually buy them but at least i can get an idea of the price. Plus wont be putting them on until the car is reprayed and all the body work is done anyway, other wise look silly wit **** hot wheels and crappy bodywork.
