Having bought the Haynes book as precursor to changing the timing belt at 40,000 miles I'm seriously pissed off that Haynes can't give a specification for the belt tension other than it should only twist 45 degrees on the longest run and take it to a dealer to have it checked.
Has anyone got the proper specs for the timing belt tension. I realise that I may have to get hold of tool to do this but buggered if I'm paying a dealer to do it.[:(!]

Just tighten it as the manual says, you won't be far wrong.
I'd bet Fiat garages don't use tension gauges!

Pete.
