Hi.I have changed cam belts on various cars in the past, but am often foiled by the need for special tools.Anyone know if any are needed for a cambelt change on a Marea weekend 1.9 jtd? Also,a certain web site gives a garage time for labour of under 2 hours.Realistic???? Thanks.Paulg

timing tools are availalbe that will lock both the cams and crank. you can lock the crank by selecting 5th gear and applying the handbrake firmly, and you dont need to lock the cams if you mark them with tippex first.

as always, timing tools are not a neccessity, but they can make life easier and avoid some problems (such as the crank moving all of a sudden when you release tension on the blet.

i only mark the cam pulleys and crank pulley with tippex, its perfectly fine if you are only replacing the belt (rather than refitting the head)
