Buying a Used Car

Hi all,
I am thinking of buying a used car privately and would like to get the opinion of an expert, does anybody know any reliable dealers who would provide this service and the approx cost?

RAC or AA do inspections, not sure on cost but probably worth it on high value cars.

The first thing you should do is HPI check the history, reg and mileage - costs just a fiver on www.rac.co.uk

if its a fiat, post a thread in the relevant section (punto, stilo, etc) and members will tell you what to look out for, much cheaper than an "expert"
