Technical Burning smell from rear after changing pads

Hello guys.

I have a Fiat stilo 1.6 from 2002 and i have just changed my waterpump and my rear break pads,

well the error is that when i have driven for about 10 min it smells like something is burning from the rear, is that normal when the break pads has been changed or is something wrong?

QUICK TEST
On flat ground, take handbrake off and make sure you can push the car easily then you know your brakes aren't binding excessively

If you didn't change the discs too then there will be hot spots where only very small part for the pad will be making contact with the disc so this will get much hotter and quickly until it beds in to match the disc

Keep an eye on it- you don't want smoke out the rear or discs changing colour
