I want to perform the brown wire mod this weekend but have seen 2 different methods. One goes directly from the battery to the ignition switch and one goes directly from the battery to the fusebox. Is one method better than the other or are they for different things?

I run my wire through an aux. fusebox, my view is if it's fused it's just that bit safer than if it's not fused. In my opinion it has made a noticable difference to the performance of the wipers and the turning over of the starter motor, well worth the fiver it cost and the hour fitting, most of that time was taken soldering the connections. Hope it works for you.

So you ran a wire from battery +ve to an aux. fusebox then from the fusebox to th ignition?
What grade wire did you use and what size fuse?
Do you leave the existing wire in place or remove it?

Thanks in advance, Mike

Don't do it unless you fuse the wire - the first time I did it I nearly burnt the car to the ground...

Either way works just fine, but it is easier to terminate to the battery.

Leave the existing wires there.......

It should always terminate at the battery. The question is between battery to fuse box or battery to ignition switch. i would recommend the latter (with a fused lead as already indicated).

Cheers,
Dom.
