hi ppl
i have a 1.4 sx bravo recently had to replace the radiator due to leak.
now a red light keeps coming up on my dash i presume the injector light "sort of upside down bottle spraying water".
this has been happening for a few week now, not all the time but become more often.
if i turn my engine off ............... then back on thelight will stay out
i was told to get a fault code reading but not had time yet.
also over the last week a couple of times i have noticed it idling erraticly from 850 rpm to around 2000rpm any ides what it could be

intermitten red engine light erratic idle

well ive had a look through post trying to find similar probs. and it just scares me it could be a number of things an i wont know until i get the fault codes read
but in the mean time i think im goner

flush engine with redex or something to try clean the injector
clean up the idle speed control valve any one know where it is pls.
reset the ecu
test plugs n leads

any one got any other ideas

Do what you have listed, but the real ansver can be found only by doing a diagnostic check

as above

am going to get it done as soon as i can bit skint at the moment thou.

been reading through some more post an i think that my temp sensor may be bust cause my engine runs quite cold since i changed the radiator
(it only moves up to half way when sat in traffic otherwise its on the c)

going to test it along with the previous stuff i mentioned an see what happens
cheers for the reply mate
il let you know how i get on.

ooops

o yeah silly me
well i will replace the thermostat
just got a quote 30 quid a good price

Clean the throttle body ref the erratic idling.

If that doesn't work (which it probably won't), you need a new aire pressure sensure (or pertentiometer as some call it), when it's been fitted, you will as pointed out earlier need to be plugged into a Fiat laptop and all errors reset - quite expensive, but worth it.

You dont need to reset your ECU at all and teh laptop will find all or indeed any other fault codes whilst the cycle runs.

The diagnostic cost me £30 for my Cloverleaf and the APS cost £210!

I'm guessing one for your car will be slightly less.

Avoid FIAT like the plague and try to find a Fiat/Alfa specialist. Fiat cahrge £80+vat for thE plug in diagnostics alone.

FU*KERS.

hi cheers for everyones help
i have changed the thermostat an have been driving round, the little nasty red light has not popped up yet fingers crossed.
the temp stays just under half and the heater is noticably warmer, missis especially happy about that.
now ive changed the thermo do i need to reset the ecu.
or should i wait until i flushed the engine with redex injector clean?
