I've got the above car, 'N' Reg. Sometimes (once or twice a month) when i brake the pedal gives the effect of hitting it's limit at a position before where the normal position is. If you understood that well done. Sorry, In other words, i touch the pedal, jams on hard yet i have to push down harder than normal to get any effect. And sometimes when it does that, i get a feeling through the pedal as if the front disc/s have a lump/place on them where it's rubbing on the rotation of them.

Has anyone had such a problem? I wonder whether it's the discs need replacing. (Got brand new pads on at present)

Replies would be appreciated.

Brakes

I hope it's not too dear too. I'm also curious whether to get it checked out or not. How long has yours been doing it for? Only had my car coming up to 2 months now. Might leave it, see how it goes. If anything happens your side let us know yeh!

Does the pedal go rock hard? Most modern drivers have never driven a car without servo brakes and are too used to the awful spongy servo feel.

brakes

I get this sometimes on my brava elx. I think someone before suggested that it was the ABS. If i release the brake straight away and the press again it seems to be O.K.
Don't understand why this happens, cause it does it in all conditions.
cheers

Brakes

I have the same sort of thing with my '97 Brava 1.6 SX. Sort of feels like the servo isn't working. It only ever happens the first time I touch the brake pedal when the car is very cold though, and returns to normal very quickly (less than 1 minute). Don't know how or why, but you're not alone!!!
