You will be able to fit it. But what for?

The 1.8 Brava/Bravo engine is different from the Punto HGT engine = less powerful. Fitting it will only increase your insurance premium to frightening levels.

If you don't have the money to buy a HGT then you deffinetly don't have the money to do an engine transplant. Sorry.

i do been offerd a 1.6 for pennys i am running a 1.2 at the moment. but theres a 1.8 sitting in a friends garage been there a while would get it cheap and a mean cheap.

You have any idea how much insurance would be on a car modified to a 1.8?

Plus you need to change the suspension, drive train, brakes, dash...

8 or 16 valve? 1.2

you might be able to pick the engine up for next to nothing but it will cost quite a bit to get it transplanted. Plus the insurance. This is why I asked which engine and why. Its not worth the hassle or the money.

it is a 8v m8.plus i have got a lot of good friends that do these sort of things and i do them favours 4 favours thats how my car got sprayed

Even if they did it at cost (and free labour) and you got all the parts dirt cheap, you still wouldn't get insured easily if at all.

i would get insured do u no my age. good point taken from that young man

Ive replaced several engines over the yrs and theres nothing to it as long as you have confidence in your ability. However, sticking a bravo 1.6/1.8 in a punto is a different matter. The amount of s**t you will have to change(e.g. suspension, brakes, looms, dash etc) it just dont seem worth it, it,ll cost a fortune. Why bother?

theres a lot of people like to be different right or wrong and am the different one so there u go
