Brand and Ross... naughty boys

Brand and Ross... naughty boys

It was aired last week and only 1500 complaints where made, since then its gone upto 14,000, so people are clearly just reporting it for the hell of it. Normally people take notice of ads etc if there are 30 complaints or so.

That Polo advert was amazing :D

They have been suspended, just heard on the news now.

Whats funny is Brand did sleep with that guys grand daughter

For reportedly a year?

:yeahthat:

:ROFLMAO:

I'm getting sick of hearing about it now - it was a late night show that 90% of the 10,000+ who have complained never listened to and would never listen to. The constant media reporting has just blown it out of all proportion.

She's tours with a band called Satanic Sluts and she's been bumping uglies with Brand for nearly a year and a half - so are we expected to believe that dear-sweet-old-grandpa thought she was sweet innocent choir girl!!

Time to move on....

:yeahthat:

The problem is a lot of people out there these days think it's perfectly acceptable to leave offensive and expletive-filled messages on people's voicemails anyway and also to speak like that in everyday conversation and so they see nothing wrong in this. This opens your eyes to how 'the other half' lives :shakehead:

Aye all that money and their still scrotes common as a pig in s**t in cumbria :p

The problem I have with all this is, yes, it probably has been blown out of all proportion, but unfortunately Ross and Brand are typical of the "right-on" celebrities we have developed recently. They think they can basically do what
they want, when they want to do it. Ross is the spritual successor to Michael
Parkinson. And yet where Parkinson would use probing, pertinent questions to get the most from his guests, Ross asks a usually inane question, then half way through the answer interrupts with a smutty or sexist comment then pulls
a face at the camera for comedic effect. Parkinson's programme was all about
the guests, but Woss's show is about him. Brand has maybe more ability than Ross, but his comedic talent doesn't mean he is immune to the same constraints as everybody else. There is a school of thought that criticising these clowns is somehow holding back the future development of comedy. The Goons were revolutionary in '50s as was "That was the week that was" in
the '60s and Monty Python in the '70s. They all received criticism at the time but survived. But although they "pushed the envelope", they advanced their genre and helped develop much of our humour since then. One big difference is that most of the people they took the mick out of enjoyed it and there was a large helping of kudos to be had from appearing on "Python".
