I put some EBC GreenStuff pads on my 55SX in the summer, definitely recommend them. Much improved bite from cold and far more fade-resistant then regular pads.
£50 may seem a bit steep for a set of brake pads (from www.larkspeed.com) but they are a massive improvement on the standard fifteen quid cack. I've heard good things about their discs as well.

Oh hang on, do you just want to upgrade the pads, not the whole kit and kaboodle? :I

If so I'd go with Jonny. Mine are still stock and are s**te for the first mile or so in the wet, but hey most standard discs are. I'm nearly at the 48k mark so may have a good look at pads and discs soon and would probably go with what Jonny has if they need doing and I can spare the cash (unlikely - very broke)

Looking at doing anything to improve them really. If i can do that with just the pads then that's good, tho i'm considering upping the discs too.

Thanks for the help peeps.

I'd say the "design" means you'll have less contact surface between the pad and the disc, which is bad news by my books. Note that I haven't tried them.
