General Boot sills

Hi all, just got my new lounge, I'd like to protect the top of the rear bumper. I see there are plenty of boot sills available from £5 - £75.
Anyone have these? What's recommended?

I have a genuine Fiat bumper gaurd on mine. Bought from Fiat dealer through eBay and cost about £40. In black, it looks like it was there from the factory (on my 4x4). The ‘genuine ‘ part is actually made by RGM Reargaurds. Note there are three different ones, to perfectly fit the different bumper profiles of the ‘regular’ Panda, the 4x4 and the Cross (inc Waze) models.

Me too have had two and both equally good. Mangolettsi Fiat Knutsford were the cheapest on line a few weeks ago. Once fitted they are pretty well permanent fixtures too.

I have the fiat black plastic one, about £40 (after discount), easy fit. I also bought the fiat plastic with metal strip door sill guards, and the boot tray.

Definitely a good investment for me as a I have a medium sized dog, who jumps up into the boot, and claws would have scratched the paintwork. Occasional cleaning with a 'back to black' type shiner, restores it to 'new' look, although this makes is slippy for the dog for about a week.

I got a grniune Fiat one from eBay along with 4 door sills, £63 inc delivery. [emoji16]
Only fitted the boot so far but looks good, I think!

That was a good price - I seem to recall Fiat wanting £60 for just the door sills (mine came form eBay for less)

Here they are though not actually fitted just yet.
You may be right in not being genuine fiat. The seller on eBay is 5kae - if you search for his items, he's still got one for sake. It has genuine in the ad ! Lol

Clean it with Armor All Shield you will not be disappointed.

Do they go under the rubber strip or not??
I do not feel sure.
And should you seal them, so no water is trapped underneath?

Yes, they go under the rubber strip.

Not just the thick, sealing part of the rubber,
But the part that holds on to the car.

I found it was much easier to fit the sill protectors if you first pull the rubber strip away from the sill seam - and then push it back on after fitting the covers. The rubber is a push fit: see photos...

Think I'll get one of those boot protectors. It will make it easier to get the wheelie bin in and out, without having to heave it over the paintwork. (Yes, I make my Panda work for a living. )

Done three sets so far and I agree that it would be easier to do as you suggest. Can be done without moving the rubber if you take care. Best tip is test fit and mark the lateral position as per the fitting instruction.
