A few days ago the boot on my EVO decided to stay shut permanently, it would neither open off the key nor off the button. I assumed the motor had failed and bought another, that arrived today so I fitted it and have the same problem.
What i discovered is this...the new and old boot switch will fire up and work - but only when the boot itself is fully open and up. There is a point when the boot is about half way fully open that the boot mechanism is happy to work.
So this means the car has some kind of boot open/closed sensor that is faulty. Does anyone know what and where that sensor is?
