I was just wondering if any of u guys have fitted one and could help or show me a pic of your engine bay so I could see what u fixed it down to. :worship:

Hi

What model is ur car Mk1 Mk2?
I purchased one of these for my punto MK1, tried to fit it and saw no way that it would fit so i contacted BMC and they told my that they don't fit on the MK1 engines, so ended up taking it back to halfords.

(MK1 1998)

Do you have to declare to your insurance company that you have a new air filter (BMC CDA)?

Also do you have to remove this when it goes to a garage etc...?

THANKS

in theory you should delcare the new filter as a mod. otherwise if you crashed made claim and thety found out they could decide not to pay up as they thought car was standard.

but final choice is up to you if you dont delcare you may save a lil money but its risky.

garages wont mind fif you left it on the car, i guess the only problem you could have is if your car was new and was under warranty. then the non standard filter may effect warranty if something went wrong with engine.

I got a CDA on my Stilo that is under 3rd year dealership warranty - I am still having warranty work authorised on other parts that is not directly affected by the CDA, so not a problem in that respect.

Plus not something you could really swap and change easily.
