Blue & Me with seperate GPS devices

Hi. I've just purchased a 09 Grande Punto exotica Red, and while i'm waiting for it to arrive I've been reading about blue & me and i have a question i've not been able to find the answer for.

I've been reading posts on this site for a while, and have not come across the answer to this in my trawling or via the search so apologies if its already been asked and answered.

I'm thinking of getting a G1 or some other android based mobile, or Maybe a HTC based on windows. Either can be used as an in car sat nave turn by turn based system.

I was wondering since they are blue tooth would the blue & me system pick them, or anyother bluetooth enabled satnave device and out put the directions and other information via the cars speaker system?

Unfortunately, it doesn't work. The Blue&Me software currently doesn't support this feature.

GXbox. Thanks for answering my question, but this leads me on to another. I've noticed that you seem to know more about the blue & Me Nav system than most on here. Is it possible to buy this aftermarket for a Grande Punto? I've seen some people say yes and some people say no

Do you mean Blue&Me Nav with pictogram sat nav on the dashboard display, or the portable sat nav, Blue&Me MAP? I have a Blue&Me Map but it doesn't connect to my GP's Blue&Me system. Officially, it only supports Fiat 500's Blue&Me, but I thought it would work in my GP (since both car have Blue&Me). Wrong. It does work, just like all the other portable sat nav, but in the Fiat 500 it can output the voice directions to the cars speakers via Bluetooth.
My guess is that a software upgrade would solve the problem in the GP, but Fiat is not the best in releasing updates (we haven't seen single one since Blue&Me had been introduced).

I have seen people retrofitting Blue&Me Nav. I just don't think it worth the hassle. The pictogram sat nav is not the best, and typing a street name using the steering wheel buttons is a pain in the back.

Ok. Thanks you've cleared alot up for me. If even the Seperate blue and ME MAP device still doesnt really sync up with the car speakers and with all the other things i think i'll just stick with the phone or tom tom
