is the blue plasticy bit on the car key important. or can it be taken off to get to the key insert inside so that i could fit the metal key part to a different key fob?? or is that a bad idea?

if you open the 'blue bit' you will find a little ampule.
this is the transponder cjip and must be included in the new key to allow the imobilliser to deactivate.
you can swap the metal over and tape the chip to the ignition sensor loop but then the car is un-immobilised

is there anyway i could reatach the lil chip to the metal in the new key? or isnt it worth doing?
well i dont know the design of the 'new' key so cant really say
