Grande Punto Blue 1.9 Multijet Sporting - Rome

Introduction

Hi All,

Just starting to make a thread about my Mjet, after all the money iv spent fixing it iv decided to start spending more on mods FINALLY.

Ordered my FK AK Street Coilovers they should be arriving today and fitted either today or early next week.

Also got my FK badgless grill on order from FK Automotive, ordered in October and should be arriving mid feb ( Everyone whos dealt with these knows how slow they are!!)

Toying with the idea of Tinting the back windows and having the alloys sprayed or changed. Will also be re-mapped early next year once i know more about it!

Bought the car from NewPark motors in Crewe (I ADVISE ANYONE WHO READS THIS NEVER TO BUY A CAR FROM THEM)

Paid £4200 for the car with 25,000 on the clock.

So far, The Steering Column has had to be replaced and the blue and Me unit replaced. Hit a serious pot hole at work which shattered my top mount, buckled my wheel and killed my tyre! :bang:

As of yet, the car is completely standard -

awesome man, looks like a really nice car!
welcome to the GP club! :slayer:

how much is all this setting you back buddy?

Cheers mate! Coils cost me £198, top mounts £25 each + Labour, got a mate at a local garage who's fitting it all for me. Didn't see the point of just changing one mount, may aswell get them both done for piece of mind!

Il see how I feel once iv got it sitting lower on what I want to do with it next, something performance based......

Purchased a k&n panel filter off the classifieds on here, from a bloke in my area, found a load of leaves in my filter box which aren't gonna help things haha! Filter was due to be changed and seemed pointless buying another standard one!

I have a Pipercross filter on mine, does make it run smoother, also makes the turbo flutter louder too :)

Yeah runs a lot smoother with the new filter, well worth buying.

Had my top mounts changed yesterday, my mate charged me £16 each which i thought was cheap, was expecting £25 - £30!

Got my coilovers on, more than happy with the drop, havnt slammed it cus the amount of speed bumps around my area but its got rid of the horrendous arch gap. The ride isnt too harsh either, but obviously you feel more bumps in the road than usual. Handles so much better, no role when cornering and the car just feels tighter.

so, heres some quick pictures i took yesterday, there will be more to follow.....

Like it, looks just right!

Cheers mate! Next step will be putting my fk grill on when it arrives.

Im going to tint the rear windows and change my headlights to abarths. Also going to have my alloys sprayed bronze or black.

Still struggling to decide what to do performance based, seen a lot of people remapping, installing induction kits, uprating the exhaust system but dont really know what to do first. Any suggestions?

It's so tempting to get a remap but I just wouldn't trust the gearbox to last! Easy to get a good power jump but is it worth it.

This is the thing mate, i rely on my car for work/social/commuting so i dunna want bother remapping it without uprating anything first. Id like to be running between 160bhp - 180bhp idealy but is it worth making an unreliable car even more unreliable!? im not so sure
