Technical blown gasket

yep mine too gave out after 17000 miles had it repaired and it went again after another 5000 miles. So did the job myself not hard having grown up around the mechs in the garage my old dad owned. slight twist though i didnt want gasket blowing again went thru the bother of having head checked and it came back ok. so then after cleaning block surface i put a very thin bead of silicon sealent around it about 2 ml in size and let it set up for about 15 mins then set gasket in place then run another bead of silicon on gasket let that set up for a while then set head in place leave over night then put bolts in and tighten down hasnt went again done 30 thou since. this might help some of you if your having the same problems....

how long does the gasket last i have done 40,000 miles since i have had the car the clock says 93,000 and i have noticed coolant leaking from somewhere how easy is the job what do i need for the job aswell as a gasket bots or anything and which sealant

on my punto 55sx coolant was leaking from the water pump(bearing worn out)causing overheating probs,so fitted new one,this may be the problem on your motor and maybe not gasket ,worth a look.

was your head skimmed the first 2 times
if not your obviously going to have another failure
