Anyone know where this is located? Is it easy to get to? Mines gone intermittant, have checked fuses and they're ok. Need to get to the actual motor itself to check it...........

Its not a easy place to get too as i have the same problem with mine that i havent go fixed yet.

If you look were the steering colum is remove the cover thats on the undeside of the colum and its to the right you will need a touch to see it as its quite a way up(y) .

because we have fiats!!!!!:bang:

I don't know how you would get to change it as it is in a pain of a place to get too.

I don't know if you can remove the dash which i was quoted nearly £800.00 for labour, parts VAT

I don't know if you can remove the pedals etc and bring it down that way

It would be interesting to find out.

Can anyone tell me what this is for? Like a sensor in the centre of the dash (arrowed in picture)

EDIT: well I thought it was arrowed........

I've been told it's part of the climate control; it mesures the intensity of the sunlight rays and adjusts the climate contro accordingly (so when you've got direct sunlight it doesn't get really hot in the car)

If your looking for the blower motor I strongly suggest you are 100% sure it is at fault. There is a connector inches away from motor you can use to check for relevent supplies. There is a 'slightly' easier way to renew motor without having to resort to pedal box or dash out but it's still not easy & certainley not pretty!

I have had all the connections checked and even been put on the exam machine it comes back with intermitten fault, could it be anything else why the fan comes on and off when it feels like it.... i don't fancy removing the dash or the pedel etc to get to replace it

cheers

:) Well finally sorted, new motor (£93) modification piece of wiring loom (£29) done at local Autoelectrical specialists £210 inc VAT!

It is soooo nice not to drive in hat, scarf & gloves carrying a towel to dry the windows........:p

Hi guys.
I own the Fiat Stilo Multiwagon. I have a problem with my blower motor. I managed to get the blower motor out and discovered that typically, It would have to be the most expensive one to replace. Fiat quoted £275. There is a live feed going to the motor but it wont work at all. I stripped it down and checked the circuit board. If i connect a battery direct to the fan,Bypassing the board it works. So im assuming the board is at fault. Can anyone tell me what its called? and where I might get a replacement?
Thanks

Thanks Davren. I have exposed most of the wireing and plugs from under the dash and centre console. Not being very good at electrical problems, I have called in an auto electrician. If all else fails, ill be confiscating the hand dryers from works washroom.
It doesn't help when you cant get a workshop manual for this car.

Thanks again.
Karl

Hi Davren.
Thanks for that, unfortunately i cant seem to download or open any of the Stilo links you sent me.
Karl

Just tested it, it works fine for me.

The files are 6 parts of a split .RAR file. You can't open them individually. You will need WinRAR (or similar) to unzip the files, and ImgBurn (or similar) to create a CD from the .iso image file. Both are downloadable as trial versions. Do not burn the 6 files, or the .iso image file directly to CD.

  1. Download all 6 parts of the manual into the same folder.
  2. Point WinRar (or similar) at part 1. This will unzip all 6 parts to an image file named "Stilo eLEARN.iso".
  3. Use ImgBurn (or similar) to create a CD from the image file.
  4. Install the eLEARN interface from the CD. This will create an eLEARN icon on the desktop.
  5. Start the program by double clicking the eLEARN icon. The CD must be in the drive whenever you use the program..
