Mmmm. Just been changing the brake fluid. All was going well till I tried to slacken the rear offside bleed nipple. Seized solid. Not to put too much force on it and sheer it, I had the good sense to leave well alone. The brakes work fine, just need to flush out the old fluid.
Any ideas on how to get the nipples loose?

Cheers

Apply duck oil or similar every day for a week then try with the mole grips gently. It can sometimes help to tighten very slightly first.

Buy a replacement cylinder just in case. They are only about a fiver each and then if the worst happens your not stuck.

Yes, but be careful. If the nipple is seized then the chances are the pipe will be seized too, and that usually snaps when when you try to disconnect it.

Thanks for the advice. Bought some Plus Gas, and going to liberally spray the nipples during the week, then have another crack next weekend, will get a spare cylinder just in case.

That should do the job. Before attemting removal of the nipple give the area a good go with a wire brush.

Same problem here, and apparantly someone tried before me because it has been rounded off. Now I will try using a self-gripping plier and as said use lots of solvents. Bought a new bleed valve too. Cost me £0.20 from Malta.

Oh, I'm glad it doesn't just happen to me :)

I had the same thing happen to me not long ago. The nut on the brake pipe also seized so I ended up replacing the end bit of brake pipe too (only about 18" IIRC). I'd definately recommend having a spare brake cylinder.

I got a cinq sporting - I did search for these exhaust, but I didn't understand half of the jargon. I mean I don't know what types of exhausts for the cent even exist. In Malta for my jap car it wise either bought online from the usual makes (HKS, Blitz, Fujitsubo, TRD, etc) or custom made in Malta.
But I don't know of any such places yet in the UK :(
